Why I Sing About The Rain

Music/Lyrics: Don de Leaumont

There's something bout the way I feel beneath grey cloudy skies.

Makes me smile and feel so alive.

You might think it's crazy.  You may think I'm insane.

This is why I sing about the rain.

When it rains I feel as if I'm washing away the pain

of a shitty day so I can start again.

On a day like this, there is no loss, only gain.

This is why I sing about the rain.

When it rains and when it pours.

I open up my ol' front door.

I take a step outside.  Let it fall down on me.

I couldn't tell ya a time when I'd felt so free.

I've got a friend in Chapel Hill who asks me all the time.

Why the rain is always in my songs.

Maybe it's because the sun has already had its time.

This is why I sing about the rain.
