The News

Lyrics/Music: Don de Leaumont

In the news, I just read it in the news.

It must be true.  I just read it in the news.

Ten kids dead in a high school, from another student’s gun.

A man found dead on the interstate, another hit and run.

A peaceful movement of the people, it seems that bloods been shed.

Another drifter on the roadside, found dead.

In the news, I just heard it on the news.

It must be true, I just heard it on the news.

Another bombs been dropped, on another innocent town.

Apartment fires, there’s been three this week downtown.

There’s a race to get the story, this one’s gonna burst.

Remember folks, you saw it here first.

In the news, I just saw it on the news.

It must be true, I just saw it on the news.

A young man helped his friend, when he was in need.

A woman gave 10 bucks today and helped the poor to eat.

Someone worked at the shelter and didn’t ask for pay.

These are things you will not hear today, read today, see today,

On the news.
