For A Friend

Lyrics/Music: Don de Leaumont

When the day arrives and the sun it beckons you to rise

The bags are packed and waiting by the door.

The sheltered remains, of a house that greeted many names

Will say goodbye and miss you that’s for sure.

I remember all the times, that we laughed until we cried.

All the lil jokes that had shared.

The music shared the jokes we made, sneaking smokes behind the shed

The times you guys scared me  half to death.

So as you ride into the sunset.  Keep that smile upon your face.

As you leave us far behind.

When the bus came by and you got on, on that certain day,

Roll with the wind may the sun guide your way.

Showed me things I new knew, learned some things from knowing you

Learned a thing or two from watching me.

Love of life was a common bond, we heard a song, we sung along

Never caring if we were even in key.

Now it’s time to end the song, no good bye, just so long

May your travels bring you many happy times.

So when you hear a song and decide to sing along

You can count on me to sing that forgotten line.
