Eliza
Words/Music: Don de Leaumont
Woke up with my head in a haze.
I smoked my mind again, just to get some piece.
The scent you left upon my pillow,
gave me comfort as I cried myself to sleep.
Left you on F-Street so you could find yourself.
I had some searching to do myself.
As our tears hit the D.C streets I said to you,
"Eliza, I'll be back to get you soon".
The silence in our house deafens me.
And this emptiness just chills me to the bone.
The space in our bed where you used to me,
feels like a mile just to reach out for the phone.
Left you on F-Street so you could find yourself.
I had some searching to do myself.
As our tears hit the D.C streets I said to you,
"Eliza, I'll be back to get you soon".
Soon I'll hop upon that midnight train
to Union Station with my guitar and this song.
I'll take you in my arms and out of this town,
and bring you home, right where you belong.
Left you on F-Street so you could find yourself.
I had some searching to do myself.
As our tears hit the D.C streets I said to you,
"Eliza, I'll be back to get you soon".
