Coffeehouse Thoughts/So Long

Lyrics/Music: Don de Leaumont

(Coffeehouse Thoughts

I was sitting at the coffeehouse this morning.

Watching all the people go bye.

They came and they went with their coffee and scones

as I sit and survey all their lives.

The girl working behind the counter.

has a laugh that fills up this den.

I'd buy another cup of coffee,

Just to hear her laugh again...

(So Long)

I tried to put to words this morning,

how it feels when you come to the show.

If i had bigger arms, I'd hug all of you

but I'll say I love ya, that I hope you know.

When i go play my songs in another city.

and I play to who knows who in who knows where.

I'll just close my eyes and smile

And wish that you all were sitting there.

When I pack my guitar late this evening

and I get my last coffee to go.

The tip jar is lookin' pretty good now.

Guess it's now time for me to go.

So thanks for listen' to me,

as I shared all my stories with you.

Ya know they say "good bye" means forever

but for now, "so long " will do.
