August 9th
Music/Lyrics: Don de Leaumont
Another August 9th had come around, who was I to say?
That this was just gonna be another ordinary day.
The sun did shine, in the sky as it always had.
Something seemed like a bad dream, had them feeling sad...
The people in the loving fields, who lived to dance and sway,
Just seemed to hang their heads down low, like something had gone away,
They turned and cried with the looks of udder pain,
It seems that things won't ever, be the same...
Chorus.
It seems the bus has now arrived, to come and take you home,
To take you out beyond the stars unlike you'd ever known,
And the world will continue to sing the happy tune...
August 9th just seemed to come too soon...
When the word had finally gotten round, you'd left without a trace.
To move yourself beyond the stars to a brighter, better place,
Couldn't help but find myself with a chance,
To understand just why the people couldn't dance..
The roads were dead and the maps thrown to the ground.
And the need for AAA had gone way down,
And the people held each other as they cried,
It seems to us, that our music's died...
Chorus
The other day i took my guitar in my had.
Found myself paying homage to a man.
With his words he made us happy and we'd smile.
Reaching deep into our souls, to find the child...
I reached my hands up to the sky in sweet rejoice
Serenading the world with my own voice.
For a while it seemed that everyone did hide...
But came out to find the music, hadn't died...
Chorus>Out
