Another Rainy Night In Georgia

Lyrics/Music: Don de Leaumont

Smoked & drank the night away.  Phone turned off not much to say.

Survived another rainy day in Georgia once again.

Rain beats down on my roof so loud.  Tony Joe would be so proud.

Buckets catch the drops before they hit the hardwood floor.

Another rainy night in Georgia.  And I’m drinking once again.

Another train rolls by, lonely in the night.

I close my eyes, and slowly drift away.

The past three nights I’ve been up.  Drinking whiskey from a coffee cup.

To get the nerve to call you up and ask you to come back home.

The rumble of the midnight train, cuts its way on thru the rain.

Shakes my walls and calms my brain for minute or two.

            CHORUS

Morning breaks a brand new day.  Rub my eyes and find my way

To the kitchen for my first cup.  This house sure looks like hell.

Weather’s clear and the sky is blue.  It still sucks here without you.

Nothing left for me to do except drink and count the days.

            CHORUS
